BERKELEY, Calif., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ahead of IBC Show 2026, Eluvio today announced that it was selected to power Pasifika+, a new direct-to-consumer streaming service for Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited (PCBL), that will extend the collective reach of Pasifika TV and its media partners to Pacific Island communities and fans across the globe. Eluvio's Content Fabric will provide Pasifika+ with a unified zero-copy platform for broadcast, streaming and AI video intelligence from a single ingest workflow, without creating file copies at any stage, and superseding the use of legacy media clouds or CDNs. Specific details about pricing and availability of Pasifika+ will be made by PCBL later this year.
Formed to strengthen partnerships between New Zealand and the Pacific Islands through television broadcasting, PCBL delivers Pasifika TV to a growing collective of more than 30 free-to-air broadcast partners across the Pacific. Pasifika+ will extend that mission via a direct-to-consumer streaming service globally for the first time. Pasifika+ aims to connect diaspora audiences in New Zealand, Australia, the U.S., and elsewhere back to their home islands, preserve and share Pacific culture, sport, news, and original entertainment, and provide the region's broadcasters and content creators a new, equitable revenue stream.
"Pasifika+ is a platform with purpose — it's about giving every fan of Pacific content, especially our diaspora, access to the unique stories, news, and entertainment to stay connected to home, while opening a new, equitable revenue stream back to the 30+ broadcasters and local content creators who make our stories possible. Beyond entertainment value, Pasifika+ will provide our regional media partners with a powerful new way to advocate for self-determination, sovereignty, and government accountability, while educating the rest of the world about the beauty of and issues facing Pacific island nations," said Natasha Meleisea, Chief Executive Officer, PCBL. "Therefore, after evaluating numerous alternatives, we selected Eluvio because they aligned with our aspirations, had the most cost-effective, easy-to-use, and technologically advanced platform to securely scale into a global operation, while providing us a level of monetization and viewer insights never before possible. We look forward to partnering with Eluvio to launch Pasifika+ in the months ahead."
"PCBL is a mission-driven organization with the trust of Pacific broadcasters, regional production companies, and content creators, and we're honored that the Eluvio Content Fabric, serving as a Global Broadcast Fabric, will enable them to distribute and monetize their exceptional regional news, sports, documentaries, and entertainment globally for the first time," said Michelle Munson, CEO and Co-founder, Eluvio. "In addition to traditional live and VOD programming, Pasifika+ will also deploy our Inline AI services to expand their content pipeline, using Eluvio's AI-enabled analysis, clipping, search, and content composition, to scale efficiently from day one without requiring additional original production. For an organization carrying this much cultural and economic responsibility, having zero-copy distribution, monetization, and AI unified on a single platform isn't just efficient, it gives PCBL the freedom to focus on their audiences and creators well into the future."
A Unified Platform for Streaming and AI Video Intelligence
Eluvio's Content Fabric receives live or VOD source feeds and dynamically ingests, transcodes, publishes and generates just-in-time streaming output directly to viewers. Streaming is provided at full source resolution, including HD and 4K, with dynamic automatic adaptation to the user's available bandwidth with low latency HLS/DASH delivery, unlimited multi-view, and "zero-copy" live-to-VoD and fast DVR playback. Pasifika TV will provide a white-label browser, mobile, and connected TV application to its viewers built using the Eluvio Media Wallet platform (full turnkey OTT Suite). The platform also provides subscriptions, pay-per-view, and/or ad-supported monetization, while providing end-to-end content security and anti-piracy protection including strong encryption, DRM, forensic watermarking, and dynamic authorization per-offering including geo blocking and rights control. All features are built-in allowing for a hyper-efficient, tamper-proof distribution, fast and easy purchasing, and on-screen authenticity proofs for the viewer.
In addition, the Eluvio Video Intelligence Editor (EVIE) and AI-assisted tools provide frame-accurate, in-line analysis, indexing, and search, composition, and transformation such as live vertical video, all without file copies or re-transcoding.
